Shoveling this stuff is killer! The power is out as well, I must resort to my pda for internet and tethering for the laptop. From what I've heard on the radio 250k marylanders are without power

I hope the power comes back on before nightfall or its going to be a real interesting night.

thats why you buy ups backups! lol i can keep everything running for a little while after i lose power. just kick back and watch tv for about 3 hours. but luckily i never lost mine. i know one thing though, worn out summer tires and a seriously worn out axle are making driving my car difficult for me. that and the fact that this new motor likes to spin on dry pavement. just imagine this snow..... spins every gear but 5th.

The power came back on that day around 3:00 in the afternoon. Internet & cable TV were out for 3 days! missed the damn superbowl, my cousin from the state-pen called me up and kept me aware of the score. Just got done shoveling more snow and getting ready for this 10 inches incoming.

Oh it get's better. The power outage smoked my PC, so I'm on my mac for good now. Heh, this will give me another reason to go out and get my power mac G5 now. Things have been F***KED up here for the past few days.

Naa don't do generators bro. To damn funky for 3 hours of power in my book. Not unless you have some type of solar cell generator.

other than all of that, I'm surviving and playing PS3!

sounds bad but forgive me if i dont feel empathetic cuz u havent experienced anything till you go through a typhoon that knocks out power for three months and low water pressure for about the same amount of time...trust this is just the tip of the iceberg...but good luck on that g5 and i didnt watch the superbowl either but i didnt like the outcome so who cares

No worries bro, you never sound empathetic towards anything ;-) but wasn't trying to compare disasters to any.

This SB wasn't really exciting from what I heard. the commercials were weak as hell and the colts vs the saints? ungh, don't get me wrong I like the colts but I rather see a team like the Giants vs Green Bay or something.

We shall see what the weather brings us. I know for sure I won't be making a trek to FUR if we get hit with 20 inches tuesday. With the way the roads look around here I don't think I'll be making it into work this week.

i didnt say a generator. i said a ups. its a giant lithium battery on a surge protector with hardware that monitors power usage and spikes and faults in your houses wiring.

    Ahh, misread your statement.

I currently own 8 APC's with battery backups.
